Motivation is a big part of why people choose to work with a personal trainer. At Fitness Lab, we understand that, just like there’s no one-size-fits-all training program, there’s also no one-size-fits-all way of motivating someone – something that Richard appreciates.

Richard: “My coach has made a huge effort to understand my psychology and how to motivate me. It’s mostly about the things outside the gym – lifestyle choices, what I eat, or the mental attitude I adopt. It feels like much more than personal training – it really appeals to me.”

Richard explains he felt like he’d carried more body weight than he wanted to for too long. Weight loss isn’t as simple as most people believe – so we helped him take an effective approach.

Richard: “My coach doesn’t just walk me through a routine, it feels like he works with me on lots of different levels. He’s very positive – and he’s helped me visualise the weight loss and the positive lifestyle stuff that goes with it.

His positive feedback gives me such a strong impetus to keep moving forward. It’s a very encouraging way to approach training.”

Richard: “I initially decided on Fitness Lab because it was over the road from where I live! Since then, my sessions have become a really helpful habit – my body-clock’s adjusted so I’m awake, up, and can be at the gym in less than 10 minutes.

The routine and consistency has been such an important part of making a change to my health.”

Richard works out twice a week with Fitness Lab – and we’re always just a message away if he needs any advice or input between sessions.
