Foot and ankle injuries can come on very quickly – one misstep is often all it takes. The problem is, these kinds of injuries are extremely debilitating – they often make it impossible to carry out many of the normal life tasks we otherwise take for granted.

The good news is, we have a team of specialists here at Fitness Lab who will help you back to full fitness. We don’t expect you to come to us with a diagnosis either – our multi-disciplinary team will assess your feet, ankles, and all the surrounding muscles and use our specialist body composition equipment to look for imbalances that could be causing significant pain.

A wraparound approach to foot, ankle, and heel pain treatment

It’s not uncommon to find that a foot specialist or foot clinic takes a very focused approach to dealing with your foot pain. Sometimes that works and offers results – but other times relief is only temporary.

At Fitness Lab, we take a different, holistic approach to dealing with sports injuries and occupational discomfort.

Foot conditions can occur for anyone

Foot pain can occur for anyone – whether you’re an ultra-marathon runner or an office worker. Since your feet are part of your body’s natural ‘shock absorber’ function, modern life can present a range of stresses – even something as simple as a change of footwear or sitting position can bring on a painful problem.

If you’ve experienced a trauma to your foot, you may already know what the issue is – but don’t worry if you don’t. We’ll carry out a detailed analysis to help you understand what’s happening within your knee – then we’ll explain what the next steps should be.

For some people, a couple of sports massage sessions and some ongoing stretching exercises will be adequate – but for others, a slightly more in-depth approach might be needed, perhaps including some physiotherapy sessions or support from an osteopath. Whatever the next step is for you, you can be assured that it’ll be a personalised approach that’s got your wellbeing and movement at the heart of what we do.

Private treatment and gym rehab facilities

It’s sometimes difficult to know what kind of treatment you’ll receive when you book at a specialist centre for a foot condition. Sometimes you’ll find yourself in a private hospital – but other times you could find yourself in the home-office of a therapist.

At Fitness Lab, you’ll find yourself in an immaculately presented treatment room just 2 minutes from Oxford Street. What’s more, you’ll have the full attention of a specialist with years of experience successfully treating foot pain.

No matter what kind of treatment is right for you, it’ll be carried out in either a private treatment room or a specialist workout ‘pod’ – where you’re not overlooked like you would be in a public gym.

When you arrive, you’ll meet with one of our team and we’ll discuss the issues you’re facing, any relevant medical history, possible contributing factors, and what a recovery program might look like.

If it sounds positive, we can book you in and plan your first session. If you feel like your needs will be better met elsewhere, we’ll use our extensive injury rehabilitation knowledge to make any recommendations we think might help. I've been training with Olivia at Soho Fitness Lab since the beginning of December and the experience has been brilliant. As a newbie to working with a P/T I was nervous going into it, but from the first session I saw I had nothing to worry about. The space is unlike your usual gyms - it’s private and just the right size, and has a smart feel to it. It's a perfect spot for pre-work workouts if you are in or around Soho, or live there like I do. Never thought I'd be happy getting up at 6am to go to the gym but always look forward to it as I see the progress I am making!

I've found the team at Fitness Lab to be very professional, knowledgeable and flexible based on my capabilities and fitness goals. My PT, Rhys has been a great help in tailoring sessions and even adapting them whilst I had some sporting injuries. He has also taken the time outside of sessions to send tips on diet, demo videos of exercises to do at home and just generally communicate with me outside of the hourly sessions to keep me motivated, which is not something you normally get from past experiences elsewhere. I would highly recommend Fitness lab if you're serious about improving your fitness and/or have hit a brick wall with your 'run of the mill' PTs out there. It's well worth it in my opinion.
